The Sleuth Method

How the Feelings Sleuths work

"We notice. We understand. We choose."

1

We Notice

Every big feeling starts in the body. Kids learn to spot the clues — a racing heart, wobbly "spaghetti" legs, a rock in the tummy.

2

We Understand

Feelings aren't mistakes — they're messages. Children discover what each feeling is trying to tell them, with God's help.

3

We Choose

Armed with their clues, kids choose what comes next — a brave step, an honest "I'm sorry," a quiet prayer.

About the Author

Cynthia Spellman, MD

Adult psychiatrist & author–illustrator

Cynthia Spellman, MD is an adult psychiatrist practicing in New York and New Jersey. Over decades of practice, Dr. Spellman noticed that many of the struggles her patients faced as adults could have been eased with emotional tools learned early in life.

That conviction inspired her to write and illustrate The Feelings Sleuths — a faith-based children's series designed to give every child the emotional tools they need to thrive, one big feeling at a time.
